if you’ve read this site, especially lately, then you know how much I value the position of safety in football.

With that, then, I started thinking about the great safeties the Browns have faced over the years when playing their most bitter rivals. I could come up with a lot of names of the safeties, but not a lot of names of the other positions of the defense. That told me something. It told me that what I was thinking, that safety is a great position, is right on point.

So, I went back through and found the most iconic safeties from the Browns rivals. The list is impressive. it is a literal Who’s Who of NFL defensive players through the decades. See what you think:
