Five Thoughts on the Browns During a Chat With Radio Host Sam Bourquin

Here are five things on the Browns that I pointed out while being  interviewed by host Sam Bourquin of WDPN-AM (1310) radio in Alliance on Wednesday afternoon:

*I don’t know where this Browns season is going, but I’m not going to worry about it because it’s been so much fun thus far. It will be really interesting to see how it plays out.

*The same can be said for the quarterback situation. Will it be Deshaun Watson as the starter long-term going forward? Or Shadeur Sanders? Or someone else? I have no idea about that, either, but there’s no time to concern yourself with it at this point. The Browns have to put all their focus on winning games and getting into the playoffs.

*The Browns absolutely can’t afford to lose to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Everybody is going to have a game like the Browns had when they lost to the New York Jets, but you can’t do it twice. And if you do, then you run the risk of not being considered a legitimate playoff contender.

*The Browns absolutely have to get a handle on this penalty situation. They are committing way, way, too many of them. Everybody’s going to get holding penalties, because those are just a part of the game. But you can’t have penalties for a false start, illegal formation, anddelay of game because you can’t get a play in on time. Those are so inexcusable.

*This is the best and biggest collection of young talent the Browns havehad in 40 years, since the beginning of the Bernie Kosar era during the last half of the 1980s. If they can just figure out the quarterback situation, and continue to get good play from that spot, then the ceiling on this team is quite high.
