Browns Are 5-3 and in the thick of a playoff race

We’ve heard all about how bad the browns are.

That’s what happens when you lose, especially when you do so by 27–6 to your rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, last Sunday. The name of the game is winning, not losing. So when you lose, it means something is wrong.

But even with all that, the Browns are still 5–3 as we approach the halfway point of the season, in Sunday’s road game against the New Orleans Saints

That’s right, 5–3. Last year, the Browns finished 5–12, so 5–3 sounds pretty good right now.

The Browns are still in great shape. They are right in the thick of the playoff hunt in the AFC. They need to take advantage of this. They can’t let it slip away. There is no guarantee that they are going to be 5-3 again anytime soon. You could say that for all the teams that are playing well, that there is no guarantee that they will do it next year or anywhere in the near future.

So, then, the Browns mustconcentrate on the hear and now, which is pretty bright when you get down to it.

And yes, if the Browns win and get to 6–3, then we’ll hear all week about how good they are.

The truth of the matter is that a team is never as good as what it seems to be, nor as bad as what it seems to be. The answer is somewhere in the middle.
