YES, IT REALLY COULD BE WORSE

This expansion era for the Browns has been an unmitigated disaster.

And that’s putting it mildly.

This is not at all what the fans had in mind when they fought so hard and courageously to get their team back after the original Browns bolted for Baltimore following the 1995 season.

But none of that is news to you. You know that nightmarish tale all too well – chapter and verse.

But nonetheless, there is a positive to all this.

Yes, you read that correctly in that there is indeed a silver lining in this dark, gloomy cloud.

It is simply that the Browns are still here, and will be here for decades. Of that you can be sure.

That might not sound like much, given what is going on with the Browns, especially now with their 0-10 record this season and a 1-25 mark over the last two years. It get it.

But it is a lot.

It really, truly is.

And if you think it isn’t, then ask yourself these questions:

*Would you rather live in St. Louis, which is without a team now after the Rams returned to Los Angeles? And keep in mind that this is the second time St. Louis has lost its team, with the Cardinals having left 30 years ago for the Phoenix area.

*Would you rather live in Oakland, which is a lame-duck city since it will soon lose its team to Las Vegas?

*Would rather live in San Diego, which just lost its team to the city right up the road, Los Angeles?

*And would you rather that the Browns never returned, leaving Cleveland without a team? You must remember how lousy – how empty, how frustrating, how disappointing and how devastating — that felt.

So as bad as it is, it really could be worse. You could be screaming about the troublesome quarterback situation on another team, the inability of another team to win and the loss to season-ending injuries of a number of good players on another team.

Anyway, have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving and try to focus more on what you have in your life to be thankful for, and less on what you don’t.
