Why the Browns Offense Will Stay the Same Under Tommy Rees

If Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees were given truth serum, he’d say he would love to tear down that side of the ball and build it back up completely differently.

He would say that he has to do that because the offense, with the way it stands now, is putrid.

But he can’t, because the guy who crafted the offense, is the real coordinator of the unit, is the man who hired him and is his boss, head coach Kevin Stefanski, is standing right there next to him.

Ugh! Debbie Downer.

So, then, the fact Stefanski has handed over playcalling duties to Rees is absolutely insignificant. It means nothing. There’s not a thing that will change. Rees can’t put his imprint — any imprint at all — on it. It will still be terrible.

It’s like a young guy coming over to his girlfriend’s house to watch TV, only to find out that her father is going to watch it with them. That young guy has just had his ability to be himself taken away from him. He is outta luck.

So, Browns fans, don’t get excited.
