It is hard to put into words just how good — how great, how tremendous, even how historic and iconic — he truly is. You’ve got to see him to believe him, and we’ve have the opportunity — the honor, the privilege, really — to watch him perform for almost a decade.

Let’s say this, and it will do absolutely the best job of anything in illustrating his greatness: If there were a current Mount Rushmore of Browns players — the four best players in team history — Garrett would now be on there! Yes, he has moved into the group, along with running back Jim Brown, the best player overall the NFL has ever seen; fellow Pro Football Otto Graham, who, in leading the Browns to a league championship in all 10 of his seasons, winning seven titles, just might be the best quarterback of all-time; and Lou Groza, who is in the Hall as well and could have made it there solely as a kicker or solely as a left tackle. There is no other Hall of Famer who coild have made it in at two playing positions. Groza is known as “The Father of Modern Kicking,” and the award for the nation’s top college kicker every year is named got him.

What a star-studded quartet, and Garrett definitely belongs in it.

We’ll take an even closer look at Garrett the next time.
