There were 850,000 in Seattle the other day for the Seahawks’ victory parade and celebration after beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 on Sunday night.
An estimated 700,000 showed up to the @Seahawks parade today.

That’s fantastic. The Seahawks fans are tremendous, the team is, of course, the best in the NFL and Seattle is a great city.
Good for all those folks
But what if that had been, instead, a Super Bowl-winning party for the Browns? Indeed, if the Browns not just got to the Super Bowl for the first time, but also won it, what would it be like? What if the Browns ruled the NFL for the first time since 1964?
How many people would line that parade route in Downtown Cleveland?
A million?
Two million?
Even three million?
I’m guessing that it would be between two and three million, or about three times what the attendance was for the parade in Seattle. That’s not at all to demean or disparage what the fans in Seattle did, but the fans in Cleveland have been waiting a lot longer to celebrate a league championship for their football team.
I try to imagine it, but I can’t. I think it is one of those things that no matter how grand you envision it would be, the reality would still go beyond your expectations.
Let’s hope we get to see that sometime sooner rather than later. It’s way past due.
