Monday begins Super Bowl week. What would that be like in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio if, instead of the Kansas City Chiefs, it was the Browns playing the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 on Sunday evening in Las Vegas?
Really, what would it be like?
I don’t think we can even begin to imagine how big and spectacular it would be. With all due respect to when the Cavaliers were playing the Golden State Warriors in four straight NBA Finals, and those times when the team now known as the Guardians was in the World Series, it would absolutely blow all of that right out of the water with the Browns in the Super Bowl.
The city and the region would just about shut down. No real work would get done. It would be Browns, Browns, Browns everywhere you looked. Nothing else would matter.
It would all lead up to the big game. By kickoff, it wound be like a nuclear explosion — times two.
Party, anyone? Oh, yeah! We’ve had 60 years to plan it, so buckle your seat belt and hold on.
