1) What a way for the Browns to end the home portion of their season! It was an exciting — even scintillating — game that went right down to the last play. What more could you ask?

2) If the Browns can’t go to the playoffs, then at least they can put a severe crimp into their rivals’ chances of making it to the postseason.
3) You hear about this fanbase and in that fanbase, but the best fanbase in not just the NFL, but in all of prosports, is thatof the Browns. With their team having long since been eliminated from playoff competition, they showed up in droves in miserable weather and were loud throughout the whole game. You people rock!
4) There is absolutely no question now — probably there has been no question for quite a while, at least the last two months — that this is the best Browns defense in the modern era. It was absolutely fantastic Sunday, just as it has been for almost every game this season. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is a genius.
5) We said last week that head coach Kevin Stefanski and General Manager Andrew Berry deserve
to be brought back for next season, and this game is just more evidence to back that up. This team didn’t quit, and it has a lot of young talent to go forward with.
6) Yes, Shedeur Sanders made some mistakes -– all rookie quarterbacks are going to do that –– but once again, he made great strides and displayed on most plays a cool head in the pocket. He still has a lot of development left to go, but he has definitely shown enough to be considered the starter for next season. The Browns can use those top two NFL Draft picks in some other way to bolster the players around him, especially on the line.
7) Long before they had sealed the deal, it was evident that the Browns deserved to win. They outplayed the Steelers from the start to the finish.
8) What in the world was Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith thinking when he had Aaron Rodgers go at the Browns’ best defensive back, Denzel Ward, on each of the last three plays? That was an extremely, extremely, extremely poor decision on his part.
9) The Browns have defeated the Steelers in Cleveland in six of the last seven years. It is now as hard for the Steelers to win here as it is for the Browns to win in Pittsburgh. That’s what a home-field advantage is all about.
10) Did you get what you wanted for the holidays? A lot of Browns fans did on Sunday. And that’s a great feeling to take into the offseason.
