We have now, and have had through the years, great radio play-by-play announcers for our sports teams.
Yes, we all knew that already, but the induction earlier this week of Tom Hamilton, the longtime voice of the Guardians, into the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame is just further affirmation of that.

Hamilton has long been one of the best play-by-play announcers in all of baseball.
The same can be said in the NFL for the Browns’ Jim Donovan, who appears to have recovered from his illness that caused him to miss last Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
The same can also be said in college football and basketball for Ohio State’s Paul Keels.
And for years, the same was said in the NBA for former Cavaliers voice Joe Tait.
No matter how our teams do, these voices have enhanced our listening pleasure. Even the disappointments are palatable.
We are lucky — extremely so — in that regard, because not all markets are like this. Trust me on that one.
