Two Rivals Down, One To Go

What an opportunity the Browns have when they play on the road against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Not only do they have a chance to improve the record to 8–3, one of the best marks, not just in the AFC, but in all of the NFL, but they also have a chance to finish a stretch in which they beat their three biggest rivals right in row.

First, it was defeating the Baltimore Ravens 33-31 two Sundays ago, then it was a 13-10 victory over Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 last Sunday, and now the Broncos.

While Steelers and Ravens are rivals of the Browns in the AFC North, it was the Broncos, who, in the last half of the 1980s, defeated the Browns three times in as many tries in the AFC Championship Game, denying Cleveland a chance to go to the Super Bowl for the first time.

Psychologically, defeating all three, one after the other, would be a huge emotional boost, not to mention what it would do for those postseason hopes.
