I read something the other day that literally stunned me.
It was stated in a piece that the Browns are leery about signing free agent quarterback Joe Flacco because of his “issue” with interceptions.
Yes, this is the same Joe Flacco who stepped in down the stretch in 2023, energized a moribund Browns offense and got the team into the playoffs.
The Browns were 4-1 in the games he started.
I am dumbfounded.
If that is true, then General Manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski are more off-base than I think.
Let me be very clear in saying that the job of the quarterback is not really to throw for 350 yards and three touchdowns, but rather to win the game. Period. End of thought. End of sentence.
I don’t care about interceptions, misconceptions or intercessions. I care about winning.
And I wish the Browns would care, too, at least a little bit, but apparently not.
Ugh.
