Tremendous Tribute to the Late Great Jim Donovan

Announcing GreatnessCredit King5

Five thoughts as the Browns have their bye weekend:

1) New England Patriots radio play-by-play announcer Bob Socci did a beautiful tribute to fellow New England native Jim Donovan on the one-year anniversary of the passing of the iconic Browns play-by-play voice during the closing minutes of last Sunday’s game. It’s worth trying to find. It will bring tears to your eyes, too.

2) I keep seeing and hearing Deshaun Watson’s name as he continues to work on his rehabilitation. Let me be very clear in saying that if the Browns think the fans are upset now about the state of things with this team, they’ll see a whole other level of anger if that guy plays one second of a game this year. Do you hear me, y’all in Berea?

3) I wrote the other day that it’s no big deal at all that Browns General Manager Andrew Berry has chosen not to do his usual mid-season jabbering session with the media. In fact, we’re all better off for not having to listen to him. But as I thought more about it, I began wondering if there’s some big news soon to break with the club and his appearance might cause it to get leaked before it’s supposed to be. Is that possible?

4) Myles Garrett is incredible on the field, but he may be just as extraordinary off the field regarding his locker-room presence with his unquenchable thirst for winning.

5) Former Ohio State center Nick Mangold died recently while waiting for a kidney transplant. Bernie Kosar also has kidney disease and is waiting for a transplant of his own. Please pray for both of them. Thank you.
