The wrong quarterback got released

I knew it would happen, and it happened.

I knew the Browns would release the wrong veteran backup quarterback, and they did.

They picked Jameis Winston over Tyler Huntley.  They picked a guy with all kind of flash and dash, but with a sloppy, error-prone history, and this released a guy who had come from a great organization and knew how to manage a team.

Then, to make matters worse, Huntley was resigned by that great organization, the Baltimore Ravens, so it’s not just that the Brownd lost something, but it’s also that there AFC North rivals gained something.

The Browns just can’t get this backup quarterback situation straightened out. Every time they make a decision, they mess it up. Last spring, just when it appeared that Joe Flacco was going to be resigned in free agency, they let him walk to the Indianapolis Colts. He was the guy who saved their season in 2023 by leading them to the playoffs

Eventually, this kind of stuff catches up with you. I just hope it doesn’t catch up to the Browns at exactly the wrong moment.
