If you keep your eyes open, and have an open mind, then you can learn a lot.
And so I did, though quite accidentally.
With all the other things that I do, I was having trouble every day carving out time to write a sizable- length story for this website, Browns Daily Dose.
And then it hit me, because if I am so busy that I’m having trouble finding enough time to do longer articles, then the people who are reading them probably don’t have enough time to read the longer articles to completion since they’re busy, too.
The solution?
Write shorter stories.
And so we will, beginning now.
The stories on this site will be 100 words or less most every day. There will be times when we need to stretch the number of words slightly, but I’m going to try to make sure that those times are few and far between because, again, people don’t have the time to read longer things.
It’s called BrownsdailyDOSE for a reason. A dose is just a bit, not the whole bottle.
They used to be contests in which to win a prize, you were required to write, in 100 words or less; on a subject. Amazingly so, people said everything they needed to say in 100 words to win that prize.
We should be able to write a football story to that end as well.
As they say, less is more. And nowhere is it more apparent than the written word of today, when people are so pressed for time and want everything they read to get right to the point.
Thank you for all your support.
Now we will concentrate on brevity on our end.
