Despite their exciting 13-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, we are all well aware that the Browns still have big-time problems, especially on offense.
But, when you think about it, the three other teams in the AFC North definitely aren’t pristine, either. They have some serious issues, too.

The Baltimore Ravens were the preseason favorites to win the division title again, but they are 1-2 and are stuck in the mud for the umpteenth season in a row, not being able to win big games, especially in the playoffs. Their window of opportunity is fading fast. They won’t say it, but they are well aware of that ticking clock. They can’t figure out how to escape this “Groundhog Day” nightmare. It is up to head coach John Harbaugh to solve it. What, if anything, can he do, though, that he hasn’t already done? talk about being between a rock and a hard place!

As I said last week and still believe to be true, the 2-1 Pittsburgh Steelers are the best team in the division. But the pressure on them to win, not just in the regular season but also in the playoffs, which they have not done for almost a decade, is immense. They went against everything the franchise stands for and let Aaron Rodgers jerk them around in the offseason before finally showing up. He has been the difference for them thus far, but he will probably play for only a year before heading off into retirement. If they fizzle out and it’s deemed a failed effort, then what do they do at quarterback, bring back Mason Rudolph, or Rudolph Mason, or whatever the heck his name is?
And though they are also 2-1, the Cincinnati Bengals are in the worst shape by far. The second-best quarterback in the game, Joe Burrow, is hurt yet again and might miss the whole season. He was good enough to overcome a bad defense, but his replacement, Jake Browning, is not, as evidenced by his horrific performance in last Sunday’s beatdown administered by the Minnesota Vikings. This is another team whose window may be closing sooner rather than later. Plus, keep in mind that the best player on that defense, end Trey Hendrickson, will likely bolt in free agency in the offseason. How bad is the situation in Cincinnati? So much so that the Browns, while they’re not going to finish ahead of the Steelers and Ravens, may be able to leapfrog the Bengals and push them into a last place finish in in the division.
