SASHI BROWN’S MESSAGE TO BROWNS FANS

Everybody in the sports media in Northeast Ohio spends all their time dissecting the teams they cover.

They give you all the facts and information about the best players, and also the ones hanging onto to the end of the roster.

The coaches and front-office people, not to mention the owner, or owners, are showcased, too.

But what media members often times fail to do is look at things from the standpoint of the fans, for whom these teams exist in the first place. don’t put themselves into the shoes of the fans and ask the questions, or question, they would ask the team’s decision-makers if they had the chance.

So that’s what we’re going to do here. Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown met with the media on Monday, which was something he certainly needed to do with the team at 0-10 and reeling badly heading into Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at FirstEnergy Stadium.

During the press conference, he was asked for his message to Browns fans. He took full advantage of the opportunity, and here it is his response verbatim:

“First of all, we understand how disappointing this is for our fans. We want to win for our fans more than anything. We believe we have the best fan base in the NFL. We have been down far too long in terms of losing, and this is a hard challenge that we are faced with to really rebuild this roster, and to find a quarterback that we can rely on as move forward.

“We do not shy away from that challenge at all. I would say to the fans that brighter days are ahead, but we understand the task. We have the right coach in place. We have the right character in our players coming into the building. We are positioned well for success as we move into the draft next year with two first-round picks and two second-rounds picks. We will have a host of players that learn to play with each other and will be on this roster for a long time, making our fans proud.”

Well, what do you think?
