Running games will tell the story

I don’t see the Browns winning Sunday’s road game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Oh, sure, they definitely could win — it’s certainly within the realm of possibility, because the Ravens have melted terribly in the fourth quarter of some games this season — but I just don’t think they will do it.

The Browns haven’t been world-beaters late in games, either, but the biggest problem is that it’s a bad matchup. They have struggled against the run game, especially with surrendering chunk plays, and the Ravens have the most electrifying runner in the NFL in quarterback Lamar Jackson, who can rip off a 60-yarder for a touchdown in the veritable blink of an eye.

On offense, I don’t know what the Browns are anymore. With Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, the best set of backs in the league, they should be a run-first team, but head coach/play-caller Kevin Stefanski is, for whatever reason, not committed to the run in any way, shape or form. Despite what they said afterward, the Browns abandoned the ground game way too early in last Sunday’s 38-15 loss to the New England Belichicks.
