And although the stumbling, fumbling and bumbling Denver Broncos — gee, it’s so satisfying to write that, think that and say that to myself — would never do it because they have absolutely no idea what they’re doing, they would take the interim head coach tag off Rosburg and give him the job on a permanent basis.
Rosburg was in his first season as senior assistant with the Broncos before he was promoted following the firing of Nathaniel Hackett on Monday.
If Rosburg, who turned 67 a month ago, isn’t the best special teams coach in Browns history, then he’s certainly on the short list of those who would be considered. He worked in Cleveland from 2001-06. You may remember some of his pupils, guys like Phil Dawson, Chris Gardocki and Ryan Kursk.
You may also recall another one-time Browns special teams coordinator who got promoted to head coach and did petty well, Bill Cowher.
