RASHARD HIGGINS, JEDRICK WILLS YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME
By STEVE KING
An open letter to the Browns Rashard Higgins and Jedrick Wills:
Hi!
That’s as positive as I can be. The rest of this will be a lot more blunt, and not very nice.
Today we should be talking about the Browns’ monumental 24-22 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Or about the playoff berth the win earned the Browns — their first in 18 years — as they face Pittsburgh again on Sunday night at Heinz Field in an opening-round game.
Or about the keys to defeating Pittsburgh once more
Or about the positive COVID-19 results on Tuesday morning that greatly depleted the Browns roster and coaching staff.
Or about the fact that a former Browns star, outside linebacker Clay Matthews, is, for the first time, on the list of finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
That’s a lot of stuff, and as such, there is absolutely no time, really, to focus on anything else. Nonetheless, focus on something else we must because of you.
Your ignorance.
Your stupidity.
Your irresponsibility.
Your disrespect.
Your lack of discipline.
Your selfishness.
Your really poor timing.
All that comes from the fact you were cited by police for drag racing in Westlake on Tuesday morning.
Really?
Really?!
Really?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How old are you? Do you moonlight as a NASCAR driver?
Or are you just ignorant, stupid, irresponsible, disrespectful, selfish, undisciplined and have a thing for really poor timing?
Your team needs you. It needs you badly. In case you haven’t heard, the wide receivers corp has been hit by COVID-19 and concussion protocols. You don’t have those problems.
Your problem, again, is that you are ignorant, stupid, irresponsible, disrespectful, selfish, undisciplined and have a thing for really poor timing.
The fact you apparently didn’t realize that before — that I had to write this letter to you to make the point — is a sad commentary about you, both as a human being and teammate. You have sullied the name of the Browns and taken the limelight away from all of the important things that have happened since just after 4 p.m. last Sunday.
And don’t you dare say, “I’m sorry,” because if you were truly sorry, then you wouldn’t have done something so ignorant, stupid, irresponsible, disrespectful, selfish, undisciplined and ill-timed.
Here’s hoping you have a nice day, and also that you at least fully understand that you have already ruined the day and week for the Browns — your teammates and coaches — and all their fans.
