Press conference is no pressing matter

With the Browns on their bye this week, General Manager Andrew Berry will do his annual midseason state of the team press conference on Wednesday.

Whoopty-do. Big deal. Who cares?

Because they are afraid of saying something that may give other teams, a competitive advantage, general k managers very seldom say. anything newsworthy at these things, and that’s especially the case with Barry, who, a good day with him would acknowledge his name and nothing else.

And what Berry does say will be a bunch of worthless gobbledygook uttered in a haughty tone.

It’s a colossal waste of everybody’s time. You would be better served organizing your sock drawer.

Now, if Browns co-owbers Jimmy and Dee Hassel were holding the presser, then yeah, it would be a big deal because he is a man who is not patient, and who hates to lose. As such, then, he would  say just about anything. He is not in a good mood.

Here’s what you need to know about the Browns:

At 2–7, the season is over for intents and purposes. if you said the word “playoffs,“ Jim Mora would not be the only one klaugh at you. But Brown’s fans all no, it is really not a laughing matter. This team is a mess, and it’s going to take a while to build it back up.

They got rid of a couple pieces just before the Tuesday trade deadline, so they will pretty much remain intact going forward for the rest of the season.

And yes, even though they both received contract extensions earlier this year, Barry and head coach Kevin Stefanski are not only on the hot seat, but they could also be on the shopping block going forward. This the way this highly-anticipated season went, along with the complete misfire with of the Deshaun Watson trade has not only taken this team out of contention, but it has sent it back years.

How long until the NFL Draft?
