Opposite Directions: Browns Hit Rock Bottom While Buckeyes Hit Their Peak

A huge contrast between the Browns and Buckeyes

It says all you need to know about where the Browns are at right now.

These two press conferences were happening simultaneously around noontime on Wednesday about 130 miles apart in Ohio:

*In Berea — Head coach Kevin Stefanski was announcing that the Browns, who are 3-9 and headed for their second consecutive miserable finish, have opened the 21-day practice window for Deshaun Watson. Yes, THAT Deshaun Watson, the product of the worst trade in NFL history, if not also pro sports history overall. He has excelled in only one thing, and we all know what that is. Despite all that, Stefanski, whose job security is extremely shaky at best, said he was excited for the quarterback and that the focus was getting him back to playing football. Why he would say that defies logic. NFL Tickets

*In Columbus — Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day, whose No. 1-ranked, 12-0 team will play Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night and then begin its quest to capture a second straight national title for the first time in school history, was announcing another star-studded cast of recruits as the National Signing Period began. He also discussed the breaking news that his second-year offensive coordinator, Brian Hartline, a Canton area native and former wide receiver for both the Buckeyes and Browns, has done so well both as a coach/play-caller and a wide receiver recruiter, especially in such a short period of time, that he has been hired as head coach at South Florida.

Could the two pressers have been, and the two situations be, any more different?
