Open letter to Hue Jackson by Steve King

HEY, HUE, LET ME SHARE SOME THOUGHTS WITH YOU?

An open letter to Hue Jackson, who has been hired as assistant to the head coach by the Cincinnati Bengals:

Hello, “Horrible” Hue, Traitor Hue, “Benedict Arnold” Hue, “Incompetent” Hue, “Ungrateful” Hue, “Insubordinate” Hue or by whatever nickname you-Hue deserve to be called.

You really don’t deserve anything – good, that is. More specifically, you deserve nothing – good, that is.

I’ve been doing this a long time and have seen a lot of incredibly seedy and sleazy things, but what you did, with the help of that equally clueless buddy of yours, Bengals head coach “Miserable” Marvin Lewis, tops everything. Neither one of you has ever won anything – never done anything admirable as a head coach – but in being despicable, you two knuckleheads have finally, at long last, found something at which you can excel – very impressively so, in an unimpressive way, if you get my drift. And I’m not sure if either of you two lunkheads – I’ve got a lot of names like that for you, and I’ll use them all, if you’ll just be patient, just like your team owners have been patient with your unproductiveness — are smart enough to get it.

So, if I have this right, and I know I do, you are being paid – extremely handsomely so, I might add — by the Browns, who did the unthinkable and, to the shock of nearly everyone, so much so that that were ridiculed and highly criticized for it, gave you a third season in 2018 after your first two were historically horrific, to coach against them. You were 1-31, and they didn’t fire you. And you thank the Browns for that more-than-generous act by helping coach the opposition – not just any opposition, but an in-state team within the same division, the AFC North — while taking a paycheck from them?

And by the way, this is a team – the Bengals – who host the Browns at Cincinnati next Sunday when Cleveland comes off its bye week.

Also, all this comes after you, following your firing, spoke with every media outlet there is to explain, in your own delusional way, why your demise was unwarranted and why you would have fixed the offense (even though the offense magically and immediately got fixed once you left; hmmm?).

Really?

Really?!

Really?!!

You are selling your soul – you do have a soul, don’t you?; I’m not too sure – to your former team’s rival by telling everything you know about the players you used to coach and about whom you proclaimed to care deeply.

I’m not calling you a scumbag – per se, anyway – but those are things that a scumbag would do.

You are a mercenary. You have prostituted yourself – let’s call it what it is, Hue, baby – to, among other things, set yourself up to be the next head coach of the Bengals once that team does what has to be done – and should have done years ago — by firing “Mediocres” Marvin. His firing will make Bengals fans have a party in Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati – that is, until they remember that the members of the Brown own the team and are going to hire you, who has been more of a dud as a head coach than he has, as his replacement.

Police will have to deny access to the bridges over the Ohio River, for the fans, in their frustration, may just take a flying leap.

But in the more immediate future, your Bengals – they’re yours now, and you can certainly have them – play the host Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. I am not a Ravens fan – and neither is anyone else in Northeast Ohio for obvious reasons – but we are all rooting with all of our heart, mind and soul for the Ravens to beat you guys as bad as they possibly can.

Even if the Ravens beat you 70-0, I will be furious. Why? That it wasn’t 71-0.

If they beat you 71-0, then I will still be furious because it wasn’t 72-0.

And so on and so forth. You get what I’m talking about, don’t you? Think hard now, Hue.

Have a nice day.

And oh, by the way, Huey, if you think we’re all rooting hard against you on Sunday, which we will be, you ain’t seen nothin’. Wait until the Browns visit Paul Brown Stadium next Sunday. Then you will see a rooting effort the likes of which you’ve never, ever witnessed.

Disrespectfully yours,
Steve King
