In light of their 8-5 record, here are eight thoughts on the Browns:
1. The Browns still have four games — a month’s worth of games — to play, but they already have one more win than they had all of last season. That, in itself, says all you need to know about how much better things are now than they were in 2022.
2. Yes, the fact the Browns were ahead by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter yet had to hang on to defeat Jacksonville 31-27 may seem troublesome at first glance, but keep in mind two things: the Jaguars are really good, and the parity in the NFL is to strong that almost all games come down to the end.
3. Browns home games are a happening again, and that is really cool.
4. The Brownie the Elf logo at midfield at Cleveland Browns Stadium just keeps looking cooler abs cooler as the season goes on.
5. The stadium turf is beautiful. Hats off to Head Groundskeeper Chris Powell and Stadium Field Manager Neal Pate.
6. When is the stadium going to get some new naming rights?
7. Some Jaguars players said afterward that outside of the big plays, the Browns offense did nothing. That’s ignorant. Good offense is built on big plays.
8. There are 16 teams in the AFC, and six of them have a 7-6 record. That is mind-boggling, and again points to the parity.
