Michigan opened strong with two field goals and an interception, but once Ohio State’s offense found rhythm, the Buckeyes took control. Sayin was perfect on late downs in the first half (6-for-6, 68 yards, 2 TDs), including a fourth-down strike to Jeremiah Smith and a late scoring toss to Brandon Inniss that pushed the lead to 17–9 at halftime.

The Buckeyes’ knockout punch came in the third quarter when Sayin dropped a 50-yard touchdown to Carnell Tate, stretching the advantage against a Michigan offense that struggled to generate any explosive plays. The Wolverines finished with just 63 passing yards, and their ground game managed only 100 yards against the nation’s top defense.

Ohio State sealed it with a brutal, 20-play, 81-yard drive that drained nearly 12 minutes of clock, ending with a field goal that removed any doubt.

The win moves Ohio State to 12–0 and likely secures a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. Ryan Day, who entered the matchup under pressure after four straight losses in The Game, quieted critics with a decisive rivalry victory.
