OF THE BROWNS, DALLAS AND PHILADELPHIA

I bill this website, Browns Daily Dose, as being a place where you’re going to read stuff you won’t see anywhere else.

And the following is yet another example of such.

Think about this: Would you rather be rooting for the Browns, or would you rather be rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and/or Philadelphia Eagles?

Heading into this weekend’s play, with Cleveland visiting the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia playing at Washington and Dallas entertaining the Los Angeles Rams, all on Sunday, the Browns, Eagles and Cowboys all have 6-7 records.

For the Browns, that ain’t cuttin’ it, if you’ll excuse the poor grammar. They are buried in third place in the AFC North, with virtually no chance to make the playoffs, even just as a wild card. It is the epitome of a disappointing season, considering all the lofty expectations for the Browns going into the year. Head coach Freddie Kitchens could well be fired after the season, his first on the job.

The situation with the Cowboys and Eagles is different in many ways, and similar in others. Like the Browns, both of those teams thought they’d have a much better record than this. They were primed to not just make the playoffs, but possibly also to get to the Super Bowl.

Incredibly, they still have a chance to accomplish both goals. Unlike the Browns, being 6-7 is good enough to tie them for first place in the NFC East, or the Least, as it’s been called.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, who has strong Cleveland and Browns ties, could still end up getting fired, despite how they finish.

And the Eagles, just a couple seasons removed from winning the Super Bowl, can’t be too pleased with the job being done by head coach Doug Pederson, though he is in absolutely no danger of getting axed.

So, would you rather be rooting for those teams, who are in a bittersweet position, or the Browns, whose situation is just plain ol’ bitter?
