Five good reasons for the Browns to hire Jim Schwartz as their next head coach:
1) No candidate knows the Browns as well as he does. He knows the things that aren’t broken, and the things that need to be fixed, after having watched them for every day of the last two years. He doesn’t need a tutorial to understand the team.
I’m not saying Jim Schwartz is the clear cut best HC candidate for the #Browns

But theres a lot of damning evidence why the hire would make sense pic.twitter.com/9eGs9rA9hJ
2) He knows the other teams in the AFC North. He can tell you their weaknesses and strengths, too. For the Browns to be a contender, they have to do much, much better in their division.
3) He has been a head coach before, and from the fact that it didn’t work out with the Detroit Lions, he knows the mistakes he made, and how he would have to correct them. He is also grown since that time. The guy who coached there is not the guy who is interviewing for the job here. He’s much more mature, much smarter and much more experienced.
4) He’s one of the best defensive coordinators the Browns have ever had, and if it’s true that the last step before coming a head coach is that of being a coordinator, and I believe that to be true, then he has set himself up well.
5) And finally, he wants the job, badly so, because the Browns means something to him after having been here as a personnel guy 30 years ago under Bill Belichick. How special would it be for him to go from what he was back then to returning them to the playoffs now?
