I had to laugh the other day when I read something in a piece where Browns fans can ask questions of a writer covering the team.
The fan wanted to know why the Browns can’t find a competent kicker.
Huh?!
Really?!
Are you serious?!
You’re kidding me, right?!
This perplexes you?!
Come on, there, loyal fan. You’re not thinking this through.
Why should you be surprised — even in the least bit — that the Browns have struggled to find a kicker? This is the same bunch of personnel sleuths — and I use that term sarcastically — who have had all kinds of problems finding a competent:
*Quarterback.
*Left tackle.
*Returner.
The list goes on and on.
So, if the Browns can’t find players at these positions, then what gives you the idea that they’ll find a kicker?
Player procurement is player procurement, no matter the position.
And when you can’t locate players, especially at the most important positions on a team, then you’re going to struggle to win.
It’s not hard to figure out.
