Johnny be gone – please!!!

Browns head coach Hue Jackson is apparently done talking about quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Hallelujah!

Double-hallelujah!

Triple-hallelujah!

When pressed by reporters about Manziel on Tuesday at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Jackson finally said with a sigh, “Again, we’ve talked about Johnny enough, haven’t we?”

Yes, we have. We certainly, absolutely have. We all have. We got to the point of having talked enough about Johnny months ago.

Indeed, Jackson hit the nail on the head when he said that. It was obvious late last season that Manziel was finished in Cleveland, if not in the NFL overall. Of course, it took the national media people longer to catch up to that fact. In fact, many are still writing it and saying it as if it were breaking news.

Come on. Really?

Jackson wants to move on. The Browns want to move on. There’s a lot of work to do to get this team back on its feet, but that process can’t take steps forward like it should as long as some still view Johnny as a story. Johnny ceased being a story long before most people had started their Christmas shopping. We’re now in the middle of Lent. It’s time to turn the page.

The Browns need to find their quarterback, since it sure isn’t Johnny. Thus, that should be the focus, for this team isn’t going anywhere until that happens.

Now that’s something Jackson likes to talk about about, and it’s something the fans want to hear.

Johnny? Just hearing his name makes everyone’s heads hurt.
