So, how much longer will the Browns carry out this charade?
And, for that matter, how much longer will Browns fans allow them to do it?
Those are the only questions to ponder, really, as the 1-4 Browns, with three straight losses and fading fast, visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Do the Browns have a chance to win? Oh, sure you always have a chance, but it’s just not very much of one in this case.
The Browns offense is inept to the nth degree, and they have a terrible quarterback. In the NFL, in which every rule change in the last 45 years was made to take something away from the defense and give it to the offense, a team is in a big heap of big trouble if it can’t core points — and a lot of them, in fact.
The problem is the quarterback, Deshaun Watson. When an offense is bad, or when it is good, it is always because of the quarterback. The Browns will tell you that everybody on the offense is responsible for the problems, and while that is partly true, it is not really true to any great degree because they are just trying to cover themselves because they are the ones who made the trade to get Watson and they are simply trying to validate it, even if takes until you-know-what freezes over.
But the Browns refuse to replace him or even really consider it.
As such, then, how much longer will they carry out this ruse before they finally admit that they were wrong and that a quarterback change needs to be made. That’s the only thing that can be done to save the season.
Will it be after Sunday’s game? Will it be two weeks? Or three weeks? Or a month? Or two months?
When will it be? When will the Browns quit lying about this?
