How many other Browns are there like Garrett?

When it comes to talent, and production, there are no other Browns like Myles Garrett.

The defensive end will be a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer someday, and the only way that the other Browns on the current roster will ever be able to get into the Hall is by paying the admission fee.

But when it comes to the way that Garrett views the club, how many other Browns are exactly like him?

That is, they don’t believe the Browns have any reasonable and legitimate chance to make it to the Super Bowl anytime soon?

That’s why Garrett, who has been with the team since being taken at No. 1 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, told the Browns on Monday that he is requesting that they trade him. He wants to go to the Super Bowl before he goes to Canton, so he needs to be with a club where that is a real possibility now,  as in 2025 and for several years after that.

Garrett has the cache and resume to make such a request. No other Brown does.

However, if some of those other players think that as well, then you have to wonder how all in and committed they will be. And in turn, that could result in the Browns having a worse record than they should get.

Of course, it’s pretty hard to do worse than 3-14.

By having that mark last season when there was the expectation of competing seriously for a Super Bowl berth, and not having a quarterback on the roster who can help them get there in the near future, it’s obvious the Browns are headed for a complete rebuild even if those in the hierarchy have denied it. They can deny it all they want, but the players know a ruse when they see it, and so do the fans.

Again, the Browns — owner Jimmy Haslam, General Manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski — are totally and completely responsible, by having made bad decision after bad decision after bad decision, for Garrett feeling the way he does. They have only themselves to blame.

When you lose over a sustained period, and sometimes, such as this season, it happens in a huge way, then bad things are going to happen. They just are.

So, gentlemen, what are you going to do now?
