Home is where the happiness is

Cleveland is the toughest city in the NFL to kick in, and it’s been that way for decades.

And with the way Cade York and Justin Tucker got embarrassed Saturday evening, that serves only to make that reputation stronger.

Now, what the Browns also have to do is make Cleveland once again one of the toughest cities to win in for opponents. It was that way for years, and the Browns took major strides this season in trying to reestablish that.

The Browns did that with a 13-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens at FirstEnergy Stadium. It gives them a season sweep of their AFC foes in Cleveland, with each victory being in double digits. When’s the last time either of those things happened?

At least this season, the Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers have found out that Cleveland is no longer the city you want to play in to get your homecoming victory.

This has been a miserable season for the Browns, as it has been so disappointing in so many ways. But the fact they have reclaimed their home turf and made it a nightmare for opposing teams to come in to, especially those teams in the AFC North, has taken at least a little bit of the sting away.

Small victories, huh? In a season like this, we’ll take them.
