Haslam’s pride could help Browns restore theirs – Browns Daily Dose with Steve King

This piece isn’t long. The message is simple and clear.

So here’s something quick to think about as you head out the door to work this morning:

Jimmy Haslam is a proud man.

It comes from taking the Pilot Flying J travel centers chain, a business his father started that had fallen upon hard times, and rebuilding it into a huge success story.

So with that having been said, then, it has to really bother – and humiliate and infuriate – Haslam that while he is a travel centers hall of famer, he is considered an idiot and unmitigated failure as owner of the Browns. The Browns weren’t very good when he bought them, but his buffoonery has made them precipitously worse.

However, he has a chance – a big chance, actually – to silence all his critics by getting the right head coach and talent evaluator to get the Browns back on track. And if he does that, then he can have the last laugh.

And proud, competitive men like him just absolutely love to have the last laugh.

Let’s hope that works in the Browns’ favor.
