Browns owner Jimmy Haslam tells us that his new indoor stadium being built by Hopkins airport will be ready in 2029.

That’s great! There has been talk of a domed stadium in the Cleveland area for decades. Haslam cut through all the rhetoric to finally get ground broken on such a facility. That was no small feat, as we have seen with all the roadblocks that were thrown into the way to try to stop it. Thank goodness that he was able to work his way through all of them to make the project a reality. It is sorely needed and has the capacity to dramatically change the region in a manner that has not ever been seen.

Indeed, this will be Haslam’s biggest accomplishment since purchasing the Browns in 2012 — his signature moment, if you will.
But what I would like to hear from Haslam — what we all would like to hear from him — is when the rebuilding of the Browns into a consistent winner, one that will regularly be a contender to not just get to the Super Bowl, but also to win it, will be completed. That project began on his watch 13 years ago. Can we please get an update on that?
And let’s be clear in pointing out that if an indoor stadium can be built from scratch in a little less than four years, Jimmy Haslam ought to be able, sometime sooner rather than later, to put a football team onto the field that also makes us proud.
