His name is Robert Griffin III, and here’s hoping that the Browns keep true to his name and give him three more looks this season.
That would be all the looks that are left, as the 0-13 Browns have just three games, beginning with Sunday’s visit to Buffalo to face the Bills.
Perhaps RG3’s the guy the Browns have been looking for throughout the expansion era at the most important position in team sports.
And perhaps he isn’t.
The guess here – as it is in many places – is that he isn’t.
But we just don’t know for sure.
For those who say he isn’t, is it really possible to make that determination after watching him play in two games three months apart – after he did not take a snap in 2015? If you’re that good at talent evaluation, then the Browns – and all other NFL teams – want to give you a job.
Why would the Browns play anyone else at quarterback for the remainder of the year?
They know what Josh McCown and Cody Kessler are, and aren’t, after seeing them play for extended periods. The season will end before the Browns can give RG3 that much time, but shouldn’t they give him as much as possible?
After all, where’s there to lose in doing so?
