What in the name of bad decisions are you doing?
Come on, people!
Get the heck off of this site . . . NOW!
OK, recalibrating. Not this minute now, but as soon as you read this piece now.
And when you do, get off all the other sports sites, too.
This is Mother’s Day.
This is not Browns Day.
Or NFL Day.
Or Football Day.
Or Pro Football Day.
Or AFC North Day.
No, it is none of those days, but rather, it is Mother’s Day, one day out of the whole year set aside to celebrate mom. We actually should be celebrating mom every day, but we are weak, irresponsible, selfish, irrational and lazy. So we don’t do it.
Understanding all that, then, we need to do it today, when it’s Mother’s Day.
Do what you can for mom, if you’re still lucky enough and blessed enough to have your mother around. And if mom‘s not around, then hopefully your wife, girlfriend or significant other will be.
There will never be another opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day 2026. It comes and it goes in 24 hours.
For all of us who follow football, there has been at one point, or many points, in our life, a mom who was doing things so that you could follow the game, play the game, watch the game or just think about the game. They did the work, so you could pursue your passion.
Don’t we, after all that, owe her a day to celebrate her, love her and tell her how much she means to us?
I think so.
No, I know so.
I think it is a a great day to follow that passion, the passion for the lady who brought you into the world, fed you and clothed you and took care of you.
Enjoy that privilege of saying thank you.
Enjoy the day.
And we’ll see you the next time.
Now get out of here! And stay out of here until then.
