IT IS SOMETHING WELL WORTH WATCHING

By STEVE KING

So, as your and my struggling Browns get ready to try to save themselves by beating the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Broncos Stadium at Mile High, what can I offer you to take your mind off the disappointment of this season – at least for a little bit of time?

It is this: I want you to watch the 2018, “Novi lip dub,” and when you do, what you’ll get is something special that I would implore you – greatly so – to see.

The video, which lasts about 10 minutes (and that’s the reason I feel comfortable asking you to take a look at it because it won’t take much time at all out of your day), was done by the students and, partly so, the faculty, at Novi (Mich.) High School, located about 20 miles west of Detroit.

With the fact I work in education, I’ve watched a lot of student videos, and most are simply hearty attempts by these young people to do the best they can do. And that’s the way it should be. It’s school, and these students are learning. So you look past the fact that the videos may not be the best in terms of quality, which, again, is OK.

This one is good, though. In fact, it is very good. It is – by far – the best student video I have ever seen. It was couched to me that way by someone I really trust, and, though I was prepared to not like it, I was completely overwhelmed. I think you will be, too.

It will make you smile, laugh, sing along and, at the end, even get a lump in your throat and shed a few tears. I mean that. It is that good.

And please, stay with it until the very end. I can almost promise that you will not be disappointed that you did.

Then sit down and watch Browns-Denver. Let’s hope it goes well.
