Five thoughts on the Browns’ 32-13 loss to the host New England Patriots on Sunday:
The Browns have still not won a road game vs the Patriots since 1992.

*1) I have watched a lot of football at all levels — from pee-wees to the pros, and everything in between —for a lot of years, more than I care to mention, in my life, and I have never, ever seen a team run two consecutive gadget plays in a game, as the Browns did in this game. That, ladies and gentlemen, tells you all you need to know about how screwed up the Browns offense is.
*2) The passing attack is one of the worst the Browns have ever had. You have to work really hard to be this pathetic. At least we know that Kevin Stefanski is being diligent in his crafting of this disaster.
*3) If Shedeur Sanders doesn’t get a chance at quarterback — and soon — then I just might lose my mind. When he gets healthy, he has to play, period.
*4) Yet again, end Myles Garrett, the future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer, was out of this world, leading a great defense that deserved a better fate. Those guys just got worn out from trying to carry the offense. I hope somebody on that defense — hopefully Garrett, again — explodes and tells it like it is. This is humiliating, and owner Jimmy Haslam needs to hear about it.
*5) And finally, the Browns are now 2-6 at roughly the halfway point of the season as they head into their bye week and are well on their way to duplicating last season’s nightmarish 3-14 finish. Since the last game of the 2023 season — the 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild-Card Playoffs — the Browns are 5-21. Is there anyone at Browns headquarters in Berea who cares enough about that to fix it?
