We all know that in almost every regard, the final scores of these preseason games don’t matter.
But in some ways, though, they do, especially for a rebuilding team such as the Browns that is looking for positives as it tries to find its way.

So, instead of harping on the negative, as we are want to do way too much, let’s look at the positives in a realistic way.
Would you rather that the Browns be 0-2?
Would you rather that they got crushed — at home, no less —in the preseason opener by 20 points, and looked even worse than that doing it?
Would you that they lost by nine points — at home, again, no less — to the defending Super Bowl champions and once more looked like a sad-sack bunch, particularly offensively, and got booed when they came out defensively and allowed the opposing team to take the opening kickoff and grind it down the field for almost 10 minutes for a touchdown?
Would rather that the Browns rookie starting quarterbacks in both games played like they were scared to death and were completely overwhelmed by the aura of professional football?
Would you rather have any of that? No, of course not, for you would be incredibly disappointed and more than a little worried.
But just the opposite happened in every regard. So, while we’re not going to print Super Bowl tickets for what the Browns have done so far, we also have to be fair and exercise a little optimism. We can’t be so locked in that the sky is falling, for if we do, then we will miss the bright spots of the last two weeks.
