There are many tentacles to the Browns’ embarrassing 37-3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium.
And they all point directly toward General Manager Ray Farmer and head coach Mike Pettine, for whom the clock is ticking. It’s T-minus one month and counting until the end of the season, when both will be immediately fired.
Let’s look at some of those tentacles:
*That the Browns have lost seven in a row and are 2-10? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the Browns might have reached a new low in 2015, which is saying something considering how bad this season has been? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the Browns might be back to square one, which is equivalent to their expansion season of 1999 when they finished 2-14, which is where this team is headed? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That there were a good number of empty seats when the game started? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the stadium was almost empty by the middle of the fourth quarter? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That’s the Bengals just toyed with the Browns from the outset and were laughing and joking on the sideline – and sometimes on the field as well — as if it were a walk in the park, which, in essence, it was? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the Bengals did all that in your stadium, like a thief coming into your home and stealing everything you own because you passively allowed them to do so? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That your own fans at the stadium were making fun of the team during the game? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the Browns lack so many playmakers on offense, as pointed out any number of times by former Detroit Lions GM Matt Millen, the color analyst on FOX’s telecast of the game? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the quarterback situation has been bungled beyond belief, with Johnny Manziel not playing at all despite the margin of defeat? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That the defense, especially against the run, looked like that of a high school junior varsity team? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That this season can’t end soon enough for Browns fans? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That it appeared that some players have quit? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That fans want so much for the team to win and, more importantly, deserve for the team to win for countless reasons, and that it isn’t happening? That’s all on you, Farmer and Pettine.
*That Ray Farmer is the general manager and Mike Pettine is the head coach? That’s all on you Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, because you hired them.
