Out of sight, but not out of mind
So, did you miss the Browns over the weekend with the fact they had their bye?
In a lot of ways, probably not. They are 2-7 and already well out of realistic contention for any playoff spot in the AFC. It’s a far, far cry from what everybody thought it would be at this point, which is about halfway through the schedule. You got a well-deserved break from all that misery.
The Cavaliers have still not lost a game this season, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked second in the country. So, there was a lot of good stuff to watch.
But in another regard, perhaps you did miss the Browns. You have been following them all your life, and while the fact that they are struggling makes the season painful, you’re still interested enough to watch what they do.
I feel the same way. Even though these guys have delivered us a horrible season and they have done a poor job — I’m talking about co-owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam, General Manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski, for the fault for this lies at their feet — the Browns are still the Browns, and they are our team. And I’m not about to let those knuckleheads deter me from watching the games. They will all be gone at some point, and possibly Stefanski and Berry in a variable blink of an eye. You just never know.
