I like the fact that the Browns played hard throughout their 21–7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Huntington Bank field.
I like it a lot, in fact. A team that is now 3-11 could’ve given up the ghost, but these guys put forth everything they had.
I like the fact that the defense played so well. Those guys made a lot of plays out there and kept the team in the game because they refused to cave in. Great job!
But what I didn’t like was when Jameis Winston threw his last interception of the game to kill the Browns’ final threat to make it even closer than it already was, and the camera caught an exasperated offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey taking off his headset and leaning back in the chair with a look of disgust.
Hey pal. If you want to be the coach of the offense, then you have to coach that guy out of all these interceptions. You knew what you were getting when you brought him onto the team. This is no surprise. He can give you big plays and can give you big turnovers.
Your job is to coach up the big plays and also coach up being safer with the ball. It is on you.
Oh, sure, it’s also on him, but you’re the coach, so you better get your act together or somebody’s going tolook exasperated at you at some point.
