Can the Brown beat anybody?

A little bit of this and a little bit of that as the Browns get ready to visit the Washington Commanders on Sunday:

*Needless to say, the sinking Browns, with their messed-up quarterback situation (Deshaun Watson) and offense, have their work cut out for them against the surging Comnanders with their exciting quarterback situation (rookie Jaylen Daniels) and offense. Where in the world are the Browns going to find enough points to keep up? Prediction: Commanders 26, Browns 16.

*Are the Browns the worst team in the NFL? In a broad view, no, of course not. But with the way that offense is playing right now, yes, they are. What team can the Browns beat at this time?

*With the Guardians grabbing all the headlines right now, the Browns need to find a way to win and attract some eyeballs.

*Regarding the Guardians and Commanders, have fans locally in those two markets and nationally adjusted to the name changes? I think so, to a great degree. The process is made much easier by the teams both winning, right?

*Yes, of course, it is extremely encouraging that Browns running back Nick Chubb is back practicing and appears to be doing really well. He needs to play as soon as he is ready, so as to help the struggling running game, offense and club, but not before he is ready, so as to keep him from getting hurt again and possibly ending his career.

*And finally, left tackle Dick Schafrath and linebacker Clay Matthews, the two former Browns, who are nominees from the Seniors Commitee for enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, are definitely worthy of getting in. It’s a no-brainer, really. But do people outside of Cleveland — those from around the country who will be making the detetmination to move them forward in the process — believe that way, too ? I am afraid they may not. But we’ll see.
