Wednesday marks the 59th anniversary of the Browns upsetting a team from Baltimore to win a title.
What if the history repeated itself this season?
It was on Dec. 27, 1964 that the Browns routed the heavily-favored Baltimore Colts 27-0 at Cleveland Stadium to win the 1964 NFL championship.
The current Browns will likely make the playoffs. They can clinch a spot by defeating the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The Baltimore Ravens, AFC North rivals of the Browns, have already clinched a playoff spot. In fact, many experts say they are the best team in football. As such, if they meet in the playoffs, prthaps the AFC Championship Game, with a trip to the Super Bowl hanging in the balance, then the Ravens would be heavy favorites. The Browns would have to play a complete game — their best game of the year — to win, just like they did way back in 1964.
Nice thought, huh?
