Browns Start Journey to catch KC

You saw it — indeed, the rest of the world saw it — on Sunday night.

That is, the Browns and the rest of the AFC teams have a long way to go if they want to catch the Kansas City Chiefs.

That is, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, who have, in fact, won the title three times in the last five years.

That the Chiefs were able to edge a very good team in the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in Super Bowl 58 despite being a shell of what they were in previous seasons offensively, and despite not playing that well form  a decent chunk of the evening, should have sent chills down the spine of AFC general managers and head coaches.

What will happen — how much better will the Chiefs get — after they restock the shelves through free agency and the NFL Draft? Already, they have one of the best quarterbacks in pro football history in Patrick Mahomes and one of the best head coaches ever as well in Andy Reid, and the Chiefs are confident they can’t lose, especially in the biggest moments.

Other than all that, they’re ripe for the taking.
