Browns Training Camp Notes, Aug. 7, 2022 – Provided by the Browns Media Center

  • The following players did not practice today due to injury: DT Sheldon Day (back), CB Shaun Jolly (groin), LB Silas Kelly (hamstring) CB Denzel Ward (foot) and WR Michael Woods II (hamstring).
  • A total of 42 puppies have been adopted this year at the Browns Puppy Pound, presented by Sugardale. Since the program’s launch in 2015, 667 puppies from the Northeast Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) have been adopted by Browns fans at training camp practices. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit no-kill pet shelter located in Parma. For more information on the Northeast Ohio SPCA (9555 Brookpark Road, Parma, OH 44129), visit the organization’s website.
  • Following practice, FirstEnergy and the Browns – including Executive Vice President and Partner JW Johnson, RB Nick Chubb, WR Amari Cooper and CB Greg Newsome II – surprised Glenville and John Hay High School student-athletes with their new uniforms for the 2022 season. In December, FirstEnergy VP of Corporate Affairs & Community Involvement President Lorna Wisham announced at a ceremony hosted at CMSD’s Bump Taylor Field that FirstEnergy Corp. was funding a major project to install a new lighting system at the facility to be completed in 2022, providing CMSD the opportunity to host Friday Night Lights and other events thanks to the new amenities. Additionally, FirstEnergy shared that their donation would include new NIKE uniforms, which the players saw for the first time this afternoon. Bump Taylor Field in 2016 was one of the first recipients of new high-quality synthetic turf through Browns Give Back’s and the Haslam and Johnson families’ long-term field initiative, which has now impacted 13 schools and community organizations throughout the region during the past six years. The Hornets and Tarblooders also had the opportunity to “Bring the Dawgs Out” prior to the session. Launched in 2019, “Bring the Dawgs Out” welcomes youth and high school football programs onto the field to greet Browns players and coaches as they head out to practice.
  • During open sessions of Browns training camp, all Browns fans in attendance can visit the Alumni Autograph Stage, presented by Keep It Fun Ohio, to collect an autograph of one of their favorite past players from 1-2:30 p.m. Today’s esteemed guest was Browns Alumnus Phil Taylor.
