Browns NO.8 in NFL

By STEVE KING

The Browns are eighth overall in the NFL — and fourth in the AFC — in si.com’s post-draft power rankings.
As was pointed out in the introduction to the article, these rankings, barring something unforeseen, are likely to remain intact heading into the start of the regular season in four months.
In voting done by a panel of eight SI writers, the Browns garnered 202 points, putting them just four behind the seventh-place San Francisco 49ers (206) and 15 in front of the No. 9 Indianapolis Colts (187).
The Kansas City Chiefs, who continue to be the flavor of the month every month despite getting steamrolled by Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl, are first with 251 points, while the Buccaneers (243) are second. The Buffalo Bills (229) are third — but only barely — with the Los Angeles Rams (227) in fourth.
The Browns’ AFC North rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, are fifth with 221, and the Green Bay Packers (210) stand sixth.
The other team from the division to be reckoned with, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are in the middle of the pack at 15th with 151 points, two behind the No, 14 Los Angeles Chargers (253).
The North’s final club, the Cincinnati Bengals, are 30th, or two spots from the bottom, with 34 points.
The only teams behind them are the Detroit Lions, in 31st place with 17 points, and the cellar-dwelling Houston Texans (eight).
Another team of interest in Ohio is first-year head coach Urban Mryer’s Jacksonville Jaguars. They are 28th with 50 points. Just behind them on 29th place, with 40 points, are the once-proud Philadelphia Eagles.
New quarterback JUstin Fields and the Chicago Bears are 21 (94 points).
While I respect Sports Illustrated’s writers, who I think do the best job of covering the NFL of all the major websites/magazines, I have some disagreements with their rankings, and I’ll cover them in my next post.
