ONLY ONE BIG QUESTION REMAINS

I don’t want to waste your time, so here goes.

I could write about the Browns’ toughness, heart and grit in the second half of the season, and especially in Sunday night’s exciting, compelling, right-down-to-the-end 26-24 loss to the host Baltimore Ravens in the regular-season finale.

But you know all about that already.

I could write about Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, though just a rookie, playing and acting in a much more mature fashion than that in putting this team onto his back and carrying it since he took over as a starter early in the season, and then especially against the Ravens when, despite his three interceptions, he was brilliant against the NFL’s best defense.

But you know all about that already.

I could write about Mayfield, against the Ravens, proving one final time this season that the Browns, at long last, have their franchise quarterback.

But you know all about that already.

I could write about running back Nick Chubb, defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Denzel Ward and saety Jabrill Peppers also being star players and leaders.

But you know all about that already.

I could write about the Browns, who finished 7-8-1 and tied for their most wins since 2007, being a young, talented group overall that is on the cusp of coming of age and being a force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future.

But you know all about that already.

I could write about the Browns being the talk of the NFL, being very relevant and being taken very seriously.

But you know all about that already.

So, then, what’s the cutting-edge news? What’s the next big thing on which to focus?

It is that, will General Manager John Dorsey announce when he meets with media members late Monday afternoon that head coach Gregg Williams, who was 5-3 since taking over midway through the year, will have the interim tag removed from his title and be given the job on a permanent basis?
