Browns Have Bigger Awards to Win

It was a great Thursday night for the Browns last week during the telecast of the annual NFL Awards Show.

They cleaned up. They dominated their competition. They were outstanding, and then some.

No fewer than four Browns captured major honors.

Kevin Stefanski was named NFL Coach of the Year for the second time in four years on the job.

Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was named NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in his first season back in Cleveland after 30 years.

His star pupil, end Myles Garrett, was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

And quarterback Joe Flacco, who got off his couch and led the Browns to their most incredible season ever, was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

That’s impressive. It should definitely be celebrated.

But at the same time, these are individual honors. I want team honors, specifically the trophy for kSuper Bowl champions. That’s the only honor that matters.

As Garrett said, “We’re going to bring home something bigger next time.”

We can only hope he’s right.
