Browns coordinator no longer on the defensive
We talked in my last post about the rise of the Browns defense this season from insignificant to significant, useless to priceless and pitiful to prominent.
Indeed, if the Browns make the AFC playoffs, either as the North Division champion or as a wild card, it might well be on the back of that defense and players such as ends Myles Garrett and Jadaveon Clowney and cornerback Denzel Ward.
And with that transformation is something we didn’t touch on in my last post, and it is that defensive coordinator Joe Woods could go from ready to be fired after the season to ready to possibly get a job promotion after the season.
Think about it, if the defense keeps getting better and better and the Browns get into the playoffs, it’s not out of the question that the Browns coordinator could get some nibbles from teams looking for head coaches.
It might not happen, but it easily could, which is something that would have seemed preposterous two months ago.
Good for Woods. Good for the defense as well, and good for the Browns.
As such, and I have no problem doing this, I already need to apologize to Woods for what l wrote, and the apology will get bigger and deeper if the defense keeps excelling. Give credit to him, for he has brought the defense a long way, and the Browns are lucky he has.
